The Evolution of a Brand Identity

Growth is a constant variable and it starts with the first step. Don’t put too much pressure on yourself to have it all figured out at the beginning. Make room to grow with time and experience. Our story at Mawazo Brandevelopment has been no different. From the first logo which when we look at now, we laugh at it among ourselves, to the  UX friendly icon we have now, we are proud of our journey.

 

Back then the signature style worked because the norm for advertising agencies was to have text on their logo, no icons. Over the years we have moved into a more graphic logo with a bold colour. We did it without moving too ahead of the norm because we understand that creativity is the new currency and just as currency has many determinants, so does creativity.

 

As we have evolved into a full-service agency, our logo is now more icon based as we want to be branded in the minds of most. Still in keeping with a handwriting movement the circle was akin to completion and the M homage to an Era of fancy script.

 

We understand that creativity evolves and we want to continue changing the narrative by being the African agency of choice. Mawazo – We Speak African.
